What are the Baby Boomers doing in the housing market?

Many Baby Boomers have built up a substantial amount of equity in their homes and are content with making improvements to their existing home and staying where they are. But along with this, they are giving financial assistance and advise to their children and family members who may be buying their first home. To them, they have the best of both worlds. They have a home they are comfortable in and they are helping out a family member at the same time.

Now there are another group of Baby Boomers that are happy with their home, but it is simply too big for them and to make the improvements they would really like to make it would be cost prohibitive! They have made the decision to buy a smaller home with all the amenities and energy saving features they need to comfortable and not have think about remodeling.
